Interrogating My Euro-American Heritage

Description: Where did white supremacy culture come from? The study of trauma and the science of epigenetics offer clues. Science Ambassador JD Stillwater shares his anti-racism journey toward understanding how his Euro-American ancestors could have become so callous, why it matters today, and how to move forward with integrity.

Participants will gain an understanding of the intergenerational trauma that underlies white supremacy culture; recognize that it resides inside white bodies in spite of our best intentions; acknowledge that white people have internal racial healing work to do; and begin to do it.

All participants will take home specific practices and affirmations to help end ongoing cycles of oppression. The challenge of systemic racism cannot be met by laws and policies alone. In this moment when the American electorate seems to be rejecting equitable laws and policies, each of us, especially Euro-Americans, must consider the ways our wider culture fails all of us, and begin to heal.
