Hagerstown, MD – Sin, Repentance, and Grace: An Evolutionary Perspective

November 29 @ 10:45 am 11:45 am EST

Human Nature: are we inherently, fatally sinful? Or, does the fact that we evolved offer hope for our growth and wellness? (hint: why yes, yes it does!) Science ambassador JD Stillwater brings a (r)evolutionary perspective on the evolved aspects of human nature. Can nature offer anything like salvific grace? What good is repentance amidst nature’s seeming indifference? We can reconsider our most “sinful” traits in the light of evolution, why they were required for us to be born, shed the shame that binds us, and shift toward the healing power of gratitude.
